TEEJ
Today it is TEEJ, the women greatest festival here in Nepal. Whole Hindu women have different proud on this day here. They get a chance to gather among the relatives and the other knowing women on the one hand and on the other hand the women prepare themselves on the self relaxing way, as like involving on dancing and singing.
Last time I had heard the women gathering singing through nation wide as GET HUSBAND on praying tone. They were unmarried ladies.
But this year the married women are singing as GET SECOND HUSBAND on laughing tone.
The tone of last year is opposition of Hindu culture. The tone of this year is prohibited in this culture.
The Hindu women wait for TEEJ, which comes once every year and women feel more freedom .
-----The women Greatest Festival is called TEEJ.
-----The women feel more free on this occasion.
-----They have got a chance to go their parents home and parents or the brothers invite them.
-----Mainly the women pray for their Husband long life on the occasion of this TEEJ festival.
-----After the main day of TEEJ, they have to pray for two days without eating anything.
THE FAMOUS DAILY NEWSPAPER "KANTIPUR" has published "MARRIAGE WOMEN FESTIVAL"on it's main feature page.
I had expected that my sister comes to my room today, because of MOTHER has already gone to home some weeks ago (ONLY SOME DAYS STAYING AT MY ROOM) after her operation. Mother is well now at home in JIRI.
My sister KALYANI came with her children at twelve.

TARA KARKI came at ten in the morning. The cousin
sisters GITA THAKURI (daughter of second uncle )
and PARBATI BASNET (daughter of third uncle )
together came at thirteen thirty. These all sisters
and cousin sisters came to me for a normal lunch
after my invitation. It is a culture.
- ----Tomorrow the women pray whole day without anything eating, a numerable women will be gathered at PASHUPATINATH Temple. The management committee of the temple has expected that some 2,00,000 women come to worship at lord SHIVA.
Many greatest HINDU temple lie in India, but one in them lies in Nepal. That is PASHUPATINATH temple. Many Indian people (some 2,00,000 Indian ) come to visit every year for PASHUPATINATH Temple.
DASHAIN
Dashain is drawing very near. Only thirty-seven days are remaining for the greatest festival DASHAIN . In September Twenty-Eighth, we the HINDU people of Nepal join to get wishes from elders. But our schools, collages and all offices are closed from September Seventeenth.
My DASHAIN vacation will be Seventeen days
from September 17th to October 3rd for this year.
- ----DASHAIN comes once a year with fifteen days holiday around the country.
- ----People sacrifice he goats and he buffaloes and it is an occasion of good feast.
- ----It is the festival of victory.
- ----Durga is the main goddess and believing she had killed the bad giant in ancient period.
- ----People join to their elders to get greetings.
TIHAR
The Nepalese second greatest festival is TIHAR. It lies in middle October this year. The main TIHAR day is October nineteenth, when the sisters worship their brothers and it will terminated. My vacation will be October 15th to October 20th on the occasion of the TIHAR.
- ----Main Goddess is LAXMI of this festival. At the same time, LAXMI is being worshiped in high coverage in India.
- ----At the LAXMI Puja evening, people lighting the bulbs or candles around their home. They worship LAXMI, whole might. There is also public holiday In New York at LAXMI Puja. October 17th is the LAXMI Puja this year.
- ----Animals, such as crow, cat, dog, cow and bull are worship in this festival.
- ----The main attraction is sisters worship their brothers in TIHAR. People have a great belief that the sisters have different power for their brothers worshipping.
Such a way some of my vacation will be
terminated this year in 2009.
In New year 2010, whole schools of the capital city have full one month holiday. Whole January will be the winter vacation.
The TEEJ is going to terminated within two days.
Today, the whole women have good feast. Whole
this night they try to eat something. Because of
tomorrow and day after tomorrow, they meditate
without taking anything. They will have chance to
sing and dance.
